Panagia beach (Limnitsa)
Panagia or Limnitsa (meaning small lake) is one of the best beaches on the island of Elafonisos. It is not known like Simos beach but is equally beautiful. Lovely golden sand and crystal-clear blue water make it perfect for all day snorkeling or swimming. The lovely beach took its name from the small quaint church of Panagia Katonisiotissa, located above the coast. It offers a relaxing atmosphere and you can enjoy a magnificent sunset as the sun sets between the opposite rocky islets of Xeropoules, Lepto Nisi, Prasonisi and Kassela.
The magnificent beach is located on the west side of the island and can be easily reached by road. There are some cedar trees and bushes along the edge of the beach for shade, but some sunbeds and pаrаsоls аrе also аvаilаblе but οnly in the summer. Near the beach there are various restaurants and taverns but also a large number of hotels and rooms to rent.
