Trani Ammouda beach
Trani Amoudia or Livrohio is a long and wide beach of fine sand that has been awarded several times the Blue Flag. It is probably the largest sandy beach in all of Sithonia and perhaps of Halkidiki as well. A quiet and relaxing beach that has got a lot: parking, nice sand, selection of bars, umbrellas and beds, space for your own and amazing crystal-clear turquoise water. It also has a life guard tower. The water is calm and shallow with a sandy bottom, making the beach perfect for families with children. The beach can get busy but nevertheless it is worth a visit, especially if you are in the area and you don't want to trek over miles.
On the northern end of the beach there is a small cape hosting the remains of an old Byzantine tower. According to archaeologists it is the place where used to be the ancient town of Sigos. Along the beach, there are plenty of accommodation options available as well as many restaurants and taverns. This idyllic beach is located near Ormos Panagias and is definitely one of the most beautiful beaches of Agios Nikolaos. From the picturesque little port of Panagia, depart daily, boats that make cruises around Mt. Athos.
