Skoutari beach
Skoutari Beach offers a long, quiet shoreline with stunningly clear waters—typical of Greece’s pristine coastal gems. It’s an ideal destination for travelers seeking relaxation away from the crowds, remaining peaceful even during the high season. The beach features soft sand with smooth pebbles near the water’s edge, providing easy and safe access to the sea—perfect for families with young children.
Skoutari Beach is divided into three distinct sections, separated by rocky outcrops that swimmers can easily navigate. The first section on the left is Kalamia Beach, a tranquil spot for sunbathing and swimming. The central section, Vorthona Beach, is named after the nearby ancient city of Vorthona, adding a touch of historical charm. To the right lies Agia Varvara Beach, named after the charming Byzantine chapel that stands nearby, a peaceful landmark overlooking the sea.
Along the shore, you’ll find several traditional tavernas serving fresh, authentic Greek cuisine—perfect for enjoying a meal with sea views. Next to Agia Varvara Beach, a small fishing port hosts local boats, offering a glimpse into the village’s maritime life. Skoutari Beach is located near the picturesque village of Skoutari in Lakonia, perched on the hill above the beach. It is also close to the village of Kotronas.
Accessing the beach can be a bit challenging due to narrow roads and unclear signage, so it’s best to drive carefully and take your time. The journey is well worth it for those seeking a peaceful, authentic Greek beach experience.
