Nice, long and quiet beach with beautiful and clear water like all parts of Greece. A great place to relax away from the crowds and fairly quiet during high season too. The beach is sandy with pebbles near the water’s edge with easy access into the sea and very safe for young children. It is split into three different parts (beaches), separated by rocks on the shore which you can easily surpass swimming by. The first beach on the left is called Kalamia, the middle one is Vorthona beach named after the ancient city of Vorthona and the third one is Agia Varvara named after the little Byzantine quaint chapel built there. There are some lovely tavernas on the beach offering fresh traditional food and the quaint church. To the right of Agia Varvara Beach, there is a small port where the locals moor their fishing boats.
The beach is situated near the village of Skoutari, Lakonia. The village itself is built on the hill above the beach and it is close to Kotronas village. It is a bit tricky to get to Skoutari Beach though the signs aren’t very clear and the roads are very narrow, but it is worth. Just drive slowly and be careful.
