Psili Ammos beach (Tolo)
The outstanding beach of Psili Ammos is quite protected by three amazing islets spread out in the picturesque bay. It is a lovely beach more than 1 km long, all sand in and out the water and shallow out for at least 50 meters. The water is crystal clear and the beach has been awarded several times the Blue Flag for the excellence if its waters. It is fully serviced with all the amenities, including water sport facilities and a playground for kids, yet there is plenty of space if you wish to simply lie down your own towel and enjoy the sun. It is within walking distance from Tolo and is suitable for families due to its warm and shallow waters.
Psili Ammos beach is located 12 km from Nafplion, next to the village of Tolo which is one of the most popular tourist resorts in the county of Argolis. It is a cosmopolitan beach attracting crowds of people not only from the nearby hotels but also from Nafplion and other parts of the region. The beach is lined with tavernas, cafes, and bars, and closer to town there is a good choice of accommodation and shops. Getting there is easy and parking is available along the main road. Do not miss to visit the three tiny islets Romvi, Daskalio and Koronisi. Romvi is home to citadel ruins of a medieval castle. Daskalio has a small chapel dating back to 1688, that was used as a secret school for local kids to learn about their heritage when Greece was under the Ottomoan rule. Koronisi is the smallest of the three and home to a tiny chapel, dedicated to Twelve Apostles. All of them are uninhabited and can be accessed by boat from Tolo.
