Lagonisi beach
This is a great beach with beautiful clear water and shallow enough to walk out a distance. There are many pine trees which can provide excellent shade but as it tends to get crowded, especially in weekends, make sure you bring your own umbrella. There is a tiny rocky island in the middle of the beach where you can do snorkeling. You will see many sea anemones and fish around the rocks. A beach bar takes up most of the beach but there is also a small public part to the right. The bar provides parasols and sunbeds as well as drinks and snacks. Lagonisi beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Halkidiki. It is protected from the winds and the sea is usually calm thanks to the small island of Kalogria, located a few hundred meters off shore. The calm light blue water and the golden sand makes the bay look like an exotic blue lagoon.
Lagonisi beach is 2 km from Ormos Panagias on the way to Vourvourou. There are two ways to get there; either by car or by joining one of the cruises. To get there by road, drive past the village of Ormos Panagias and in about 1 km, you will find a sign pointing towards Lagonisi beach. The beach has a parking lot but you’d better get there early enough to find a space. There are no restaurants or taverns but you can find a few family run apartments for hire at a short distance. The beach is ideal for families with young children due to its shallow water and a perfect place to spend the day. Do not miss to walk to the little island off the beach.
