Panteleimon beach
This is a perfectly nice beach, located in a great location with lots of campsites for camping cars right on the beach. A very welcoming place with plenty of opportunity to walk and plenty of beach to choose from. There are several hotels along the beach that have sunbeds and parasols on the beach front as well as plenty of restaurants and tavernas for lunch or dinner. Most of the hotels do not charge for the sunbeds when you buy a drink. Beach bars are also available for cold drinks and snacks. The sea is clean and clear with some stones in places, so bring water shoes if your feet are sensitive. This is mainly a family friendly beach but great also for couples and individuals. Panteleimon beach offers great views when swimming of the castle of Platamonas on one side and Mount Olympus on the other. It is rather long (approximately 3 km) and rarely gets overcrowded except maybe for a couple of weeks in mid-August. This lovely beach sits just below the castle of Platamonas and is accessed easily via the E75 motorway (Leptokarya junction). Katerini is 36 km away and Larissa 56 km. Not far is the picturesque mountain village of Paleos Panteleimonas and Litochoro. You can combine Panteleimon beach with a visit to the archaeological site of Dion and hiking on Mount Olympus.
