Myti beach

Myti beach

Miti is a quiet, remote and unique beach, mostly because of its odd shape. It is a long strip of land that inserts deep into the sea, while its form changes due to the tides. The strip of land is covered with golden thin sand, and seems as it splits the sea in two. It has crystal-clear and deep waters with many sea currents, so swimming may be dangerous for people with no good swimming skills. Due to its shape is called Miti meaning nose, in Greek. It is located at the southwestern tip of the Kassandra peninsula near the village of Posidi and stretches right in front of the lighthouse of the cape. Miti is a beach of unique beauty and definitely one of the most impressive beaches of Halkidiki.

During the winter, most of the beach disappears under the sea water. There is car park near the road but beware the sandy road. From the parking lot, is a bit of a walk down to the beach but worth it. There are no amenities so come prepared with water, umbrella and some snacks. Two more beaches lie to the left and right with the most famous being Aegiopelagitika beach. Near Miti, are the ruins of the temple of Poseidon, god of the sea.
