Perhaps he had never visited Sikinos, but Odysseus Elytis linked his name with this small Aegean Sea island. Furthermore,the little church above Kastro was built in his honour after his death, after he himself had requested this before dying. It is dedicated to the Virgin Mary of Pantohara and was founded in 2001.
