Church of Agios Dimitrios

The Holy Temple of St. Dimitriou was built in 1815 and is a small Temple, which has its own color. It is a ritual of a basilica and as it can be seen from the founding inscription, the temple is honored in the name of three saints. 1. The Holy Martyr Demetrios, celebrated with the participation of our Priest, the Ierate of the Island and the Principles, on October 25 and 26 of each year. 2. St. Anthony of the Great, celebrated annually on January 17, with arctoclasia and the established cutting of the Vassilopita of the Parish. 3. The Holy Neo-martyr Constantine of Hydra, the following day of memory of the Patron of Hydra, on November 15th. It should be noted that in the Temple there is the first picture that was hagiographed for St. Constantine in 1815. In 1943 the then Metropolitan of Hydra, PROCOPIOS Karamanos, head of the procession of the procession, brought the icon of Saint Spyridon, dating back to 1809, to the Church of Agios Nikolaos of Kavos (today's family of Mavroides).
