R7 - Chorio - Roupa - Monastiria & Soufi Beach
Trail 7: This route takes you straight to the northern coast of the island and to the beaches of Monastiria and Soufi. The walk time is almost 1h40 until the beach of Monastiria and you will need another 20 minutes to reach the lovely beach of Soufi. To walk back takes a bit less. The trail starts from the beautiful little square at the heart of Chorio. It is an easy trail, well-marked all the way, which runs through cultivated terraces. Along the way you will pass by several quaint chapels and an old stone bridge of great architecture. Shortly before you reach the sandy beach of Monastiria, you will come across the chapel of Panagia Monastiriotissa. The chapel is a remnant of a larger complex of monasteries that were destroyed over the centuries. At Monastiria beach, you can stop for a short break and a quick dip, before you move on to Soufi beach. The route offers great views and includes two beautiful beaches.
