Psathi Kimolos
Psathi is Kimolos’ port town. It is where the ferries from Piraeus and the nearby island of Milos come in. There are many crossings during the day between Psathi and Pollonia in Milos, especially in high season. The crossing takes around a quarter of an hour. The port is relatively small but it offers a few places for sailing and fishing boats behind the ferry dock. There are also excursion boats that go from the port of Psathi around the island and also to the nearby island of Poliegos which has some of the most beautiful sea in Greece.
The little village has a very popular beach with tamarisk trees and some sunbeds and parasols to rent. The beach is situated to the right of the port and has shallow and crystal-clear water. Psathi is located in the southeast of the island, at about one kilometer from Chorio. You can actually walk to the island’s capital in about 20 minutes. Psathi is the perfect place to swim, relax in the sun and enjoy a nice meal at the little tavernas, found on the sandy pebble beach. Here, you can find some hotels, apartments and rooms to rent and even a few stores and souvenir shops. The village also serves as the starting point for hiking trails that take you farther into the island.
