Cherronissos Sifnos
Cherronisos is one of the most picturesque villages of Sifnos. It is a small fishing village with a sandy beach, also known for its ceramics. It is located at the northern end of the island, in a small bay, 15 km away from Apollonia. The once traditional pottery settlement has become a small refuge for fishing and sailing boats, and is considered to be one of the safest ports in the Aegean. In Herronisos there are picturesque fish taverns literally in the sea that serve fresh fish from the island. On the left side of the beach is the church of Agios Polykarpos, where one of the largest festivals in Sifnos takes place every year. At the top of the hill just opposite the settlement is the small church of Agios Georgios. The sunset from the top of the hill is one of the best of the island. Cherronisos is probably the most peaceful settlement of Sifnos. An ideal place for relaxation and tranquility.
