Kaminia Hydra

Kaminia is a small seaside village, situated between Vlichos and Hydra Town. It has a small natural port with many colorful wooden boats bobbing in its waters, and a small pebbled beach. At the back of the port, is the mansion of Admiral Miaoulis, a characteristic house with red color which was built in 1786. The mansion remained abandoned for several years but recently was renovated and is now used as an exhibition hall. During Easter, in Kaminia takes place one of the most spectacular customs on the island. It is the Procession of the Epitaph in the sea every Good Friday. The custom is very popular attracting many locals and tourists who come here and watch this unique custom. Kaminia is a 15 minutes’ walk from Hydra Town. Here you can find a few tavernas with home cooked food and some rooms to rent.
