Metsovo Ski Resort

The Profitis Ilias Ski Center or Politsies, as it is widely known, is located in the region of Epirus in Western Greece. With a peak elevation of 1,620 m., it offers skiers and snowboarders a 260 m vertical drop. The ski resort has five ski slopes and a cross-country ski run served by an aerial and three sliding lifts. In total Profitis Ilias ski resort offers 4 km of marked trails with 75% (3 km) of the total trails ideal for beginners and 25% (1 km) of the total trails being suitable for intermediate skiers and snowboarders. Its facilities include a chalet with a restaurant and a café open all year round, a ski school and ski equipment rental stores. There is also a snow truck (a vehicle of bus type, consisting of two wagons) for short tours to the snowed area.

The ski resort operates daily from December to March from 09:45 a.m. to 15:45 p.m., but you can also visit it other times of the year as it operates as a recreation park. The ski resort attracts thousands of visitors every year. If you are planning to stay overnight, you can find lots of hotels and guesthouses in the nearby village of Metsovo as well as traditional tavernas to dine and shops to buy local products. The Profitis Ilias Ski Resort is right next to the Ioannina – Trikala National Road. Picturesque Metsovo is 4 km away and Ioannina 50 km. Getting there is very easy and there is a large parking lot for the vehicles.
