Kaloratissa beach
Kalotaritissa is not actually a beach but three beaches in the homonym village. Sapounochoma beach is the first beach you will meet when you arrive in the village. This is a rather small beach with pebbles and refreshing water. Vlycho beach is the second one with clear water and fine pebbles. The largest and most remote of the three is Mesa Ammos, a sandy beach with crystal-clear water and nice view of the highest peak of Donousa. This one is popular with nudists and young couples. None of the beaches is organized, so we suggest that you bring water and an umbrella with you. However, in the village, there is a tavern where you can enjoy delicious Greek food or buy a coffee. All three beaches lie in a large bay, well protected from the wind at all times and have opposite the tiny islet of Skoulonisi. Kalotaritissa is a small village in the north east of the island, about 9 km from Stavros. You can reach Kalotaritissa and the three beaches easily by car, bus or boat but only during the summer months. If you want to explore the island, you can hike to this beautiful spot in 90 minutes along a marked trail which takes you along mountains and cliffs and offers great views of Donousa and the Aegean. So, if you are looking for a calm atmosphere and you like pebble beaches, Kalotaritissa is made for you.
