How to get to Kythnos

The fastest way to travel to Kythnos is by ferry from the port of Lavrion in Attica. There are ferry routes from Lavrion to Kythnos throughout the year and the journey is about 1 and a half hours. You can also travel to Kythnos from the port of Piraeus. There are daily ferry crossings throughout the year and the trip takes around 3 hours. In summer, ferry schedules are more frequent from both ports. The port in Kythnos is in Merichas, on the west coast of the island. Due to its proximity to Athens, Kythnos is an ideal destination for short breaks and weekend gateways.   

Connection with other islands

Kythnos is daily connected by ferry to Seirfos, Sifnos, Milos and Kimolos. Twice a week, there is a ferry to Santorini, Sikinos and Folegandros and three times a week to Kea and Syros. There also direct ferry routes to Tinos, Andros, Ios, Kea and Paros.
