Apagio beach
Apagio beach is a deep and narrow natural "fjord" with crystal clear turquoise, warm water at the end of which there is a small sandy beach. The hidden beach of Laconia is a miracle of nature. Around the beach and under the rocks that compose it, there are numerous inhabitable caves, reminiscent of Matala in Crete and which have inscriptions in foreign languages. Kapari grows on the rocks around the caves.
Access is easy through a dirt road in a good condition. The beach is always protected from the winds of Cape Malea, which are known for their severity. Characteristic is the phrase of the ancient geographer Strabo: "Malean de kampsas, epilathou oikade" (= if you decide to pass Maleas forget that you have a family).
