Agios Dimitrios Church of Syros
This is the first building you will see from the ferry while approaching the island's port. It can be accessed only if you have your own vehicle. It is located near the settlement of Varoria, on top of the slope overlooking the Aegean Sea and the dry landscapes of the island. It owes its existence to the vision of a local man, who saw the icon of Agios Dimitrios, which was found in 1936 in the area where the Orthodox Church is located nowadays. It is worth visiting for its amazing view, its magnificent building and the large parvis.
