Bridge of Platanias

The bridge of Platanias is the most famous of the stone bridges on river Neda. The bridge is crossed by hundreds of visitors, in order to take the path leading to the famous waterfalls. Like the rest of the stone bridges over the river Neda, it is an architectural masterpiece having many similarities with the stone bridges, found in the region of Epirus. The bridge impresses with its beauty and its elaborate construction. The exact construction date is not known but it is believed that it was constructed during the Turkish occupation. It served to connect the villages of the area.
