Bridge of Agios Sostis

The historic stone bridge of Agios Sostis is located on the border of Magoula and Agia Irini in the prefecture of Lakonia, Peloponne. The one-arch bridge spans over the Knakion River and connects the village of Agia Irini with the church of Agios Sostis on the opposite bank. It is assumed that it was built in the 18th century, but unfortunately there is not much information regarding the bridge. Just a few meters away, are the remnants of an old olive mill and a water mill to remind their important role in the economic development of the area.

To visit the bridge, you will need to drive to the village of Agia Irini and park near the main square. You will then have to walk for almost a kilometer along a non paved road. Starting from the village square, head towards the village of Logastra and right after the old bus stop, turn left and follow the downhill road. Although there are no signs to point the way, it is easy to find the bridge.
