R4 - Kedros beach - Kato Milos

Trail 4 runs along an old path used by locals in the past for the transportation of the ‘migadi’ (a mixture of barley and wheat) from the village of Stavros to Kato Milos. Generally, considered a moderately route, this trail is 1.800 meters (1.1 mi) long and takes 40 minutes to complete. The route starts from Kedros beach and heads SW. It passes from the caves of Gerantonis and climbs towards Choristaria, a place with small creeks where the millers used to tie up their boats. From that point onwards, it climbs uphill to reach the Mill. It is an interesting route with some places to visit such as the remains of a settlement from the Geometric era, and an iron furnace at Kedros beach where the ores from the mines ended up, to be loaded onto ships. You can swim at Vathi Limenari beach and explore a World War II shipwreck at Kedros beach. It is a great hiking route that combines sightseeing and swimming.
