The Katarraktis Mountain Refuge (Babis Tsoupras) is located in the Tzoumerka Mountains, at an altitude of 1,660 metres, above the picturesque village of Katarraktis. Built in 1998, the refuge was completely renovated and reopened in 2022. Today, it is a modern, well-equipped and welcoming mountain shelter with accommodation for up to 40 people.

The refuge has an organized kitchen serving breakfast, lunch, dinner and packed meals for hikers. Its location makes it an excellent base for hiking and mountaineering in the Tzoumerka Mountains, with direct access to Katafidi Peak (2,393 m), the highest summit of Tzoumerka and the second-highest summit of the Athamanian Mountains.

Hiking Routes from Katarraktis Mountain Refuge
