Koromilia Refuge Olympus

Koromilia is a mountain refuge on the north-east side of Mt. Olympus. It is situated at an altitude of 1.020m. within the Olympus National Park and is open daily from mid-June to mid-September. The rest of the time is open weekends but can also host groups of more than four people all other days. The refuge has a guesthouse with 18 bunkbeds, divided into three rooms. There is bathroom for the guests and small bookcase with books, magazines and board games. The beds are equipped with linen, pillows and blankets but you can use your own linen if you wish so. Everyone in the guesthouse should wear slippers since boots and shoes are not allowed. To make a reservation, you have to call or send an email and the reservation will be confirmed after having paid the cost. There is also a restaurant on the ground floor able to host more than 50 people. The restaurant offers hot drinks, refreshments and home-cooked meals made of fresh ingredients. It has a living room with a wood stove and a fireplace to keep the room warm. You are not allowed to bring your own food or drinks in the restaurant area neither enter the venue with shoes or boots.

Reaching the refuge by car from Dion is easy. Just follow the Olympos signs and after passing the intersection for the church of St. Konstantine and Helen, and Rema Orlia, keep driving for about 8 more kilometers till you reach the refuge. If you decide to hike, you can take well-marked hiking trails from a) the chapel of Konstantine and Helen b) Agios Vasilios in the Karitsa village c) from the Mpountolas refuge in Litochoro d) the Petrostrougka refuge or the Rahi path.
