Monastery of Agios Minas
The Monastery of Agios Minas is located in the village of Kokkinolithari and is the most important pilgrimage as well as one of the most beautiful attractions of the prefecture of Thesprotia. It is also known as the “Meteoro of Epirus” for its uncanny similarity to the world-famous site of Meteora. The monastery is built in a prominent position atop of a small cone-shaped rock and has a long history which is intertwined with a large number of legends and traditions that have been carried through from generation to generation up to the present day, mainly concerning its foundation date. It is a dependency of Giromeri Giromeri Monastery since 1167 and celebrates every year on November, 11th. It attracts many pilgrims and is open all year round.
