Cape Drastis
Cape Drastis with its spectacular sculpted white cliffs jutting out into the turquoise Ionian Sea is an enchanting, magnificent, unspoiled and wild cape natural scenery. It is not easily accessible, but it's worth visiting it. It is the ideal place for relaxing, swimming, snorkeling and cliff jumping. The cape is located in the northernmost part of Corfu Island, just after the village of Peroulades. Magnificent rock formations and stunning blue water make the place unique.
There are numerous small shallow beaches between the cliffs with fine sand, ideal for families and kids. Caution needed when strong winds blow in the area. Opposite the cape there are the Diapontia islands and the islet of Diaplou. The sunset from Cape Drastis is breathtaking and shouldn't be missed. Kritamo, wild asparagus and garlic grow in the area, while if you are lucky you might see turtles and dolphins.
If you want to go by car, there is a narrow road from Peroulades village which takes you to a spot above the beach from where you can enjoy the view. From that point is not possible to go down the cliffs as they are vertical and it slopes straight down to the sea. If you wish to get closer, there is a small cove between Sidari and Cape Drastis where you can rent a boat to take you to the cape. You can access it only if the weather condition is very good. Cape Drastis is about 40 kilometers away from the city of Corfu. It is one of the most magical places that you must visit.
