Fed by a mountain stream, the waterfalls cascade through the rugged landscape in three distinct stages:

• Lower Waterfall (Kato Vathra) – This striking 25-meter waterfall plunges vertically into a rocky basin before continuing its course downstream. It’s the most accessible and a great starting point, reached via a well-marked trail.
• Upper Waterfall (Ano Vathra) – Towering at 30 meters, this is the tallest and most dramatic. Its water falls entirely in free air without touching the rock face behind it—hence the name "Skotomeno Nero" (meaning "Killed Water"), symbolizing the way the water disperses and “dies” upon crashing into the rocks below.
• Hidden Waterfall (Krymmeni Vathra) – Tucked higher in the mountains, this smaller 10-meter waterfall is a secluded spot with a natural pool at its base—ideal for a bracing dip for those who dare.

Hiking Routes to the Waterfalls

The waterfalls are located at an elevation of 1,200 meters and can be reached by a 2-hour hike through a dense, scenic forest starting from Vythos village.From the Lower Waterfall, visitors can reach the Upper Waterfall via two routes:

• A 40-minute circular trail with low difficulty, suitable for most hikers.
• A steep and challenging 10-minute path, recommended only for experienced and sure-footed trekkers.

Behind the Upper Waterfall, a natural grotto allows you to stand behind the cascading water and enjoy panoramic views of the Sioupotista slope—a magical photo opportunity. An alternative trail begins in the chestnut forest of Sioupotista, leading to the Lower Waterfall in just 30 minutes. For those with 4x4 vehicles, a forest road links Vythos with the Monastery of Agia Triada or climbs toward Prophet Elias, offering access to the Upper Waterfall before descending to the others.
