The Pyramids of Exogi of Ithaki
On the slope of Mount Nion, 21 kilometers far from Vathy, is built at 350 meters altitude, one of the most beautiful villages of Ithaca: The village of Exogi. There, near the cemetery of the village, there are Pyramids of Exogi, a triangular pyramid about 3 meters high and another one next to it, built with cylindrical "layers", a little higher. It is built with mill pillars and is the work of E. Raftopoulos, a funerary monument, as it is mentioned.
The Pyramids can be reached by following the main road of the village, passing through the picturesque old houses, in a rich and dense vegetation area with endless views of the Aphales, the great bay of northern Ithaca.
