Statue of Odysseus of Ithaki
The statue of Odysseus is in the waterfront of the central square in Vathy. The composition of the statue depicts Odysseus in two forms. In an upright, new, lofty, look to the sea that enchanted him. In another form, is bowed, jaded with the paddle board in his hands, taming the waves, with the sole purpose of returning to the sweet homeland of Ithaca. This statue was the work of sculptor Korina Cassianou from the island of Ithaca.
