Neraida Bridge (Fairy Bridge): A Hidden Stone Bridge in Arta
The single-arched stone bridge of Neraida, also known as the Fairy Bridge, is hidden within a dense forest at an altitude of 800 metres, near the village of Vourgareli in the prefecture of Arta. Built in the 19th century, the bridge spans the Sarandaporos stream, a tributary of the Arachthos River, and is one of the most picturesque stone bridges in the region.
Surrounded by lush nature and tranquil landscapes, the Neraida Bridge stands out not only for its traditional architecture but also for the natural beauty of its setting.
The bridge is located close to the road connecting Arta with Vourgareli, just before entering the village. A short and easy hiking trail, suitable for visitors of all ages, leads to the bridge, which once served as the main entrance to the village.
