The island of Kastelorizo has only one port, in the capital town of Megisti. The route is served only by conventional ferries and the journey lasts 13-14 hours.
Connection with other islands
Kastelorizo is also connected by boat to Kos, Symi (6'10'' hts), Tilos (8 hrs), Nisyros (9'20'' hrs), Kos (11 hrs), Kalymnos (12'20'' hrs), and Astypalaia (13'30'' hrs). You can also sail to Kastelorizo from Patmos (12'50''), Lipsi (12'35''), Ikaria (15 hrs) and Fournoi (14'25''). From the island of Rhodes, the ferry crossing takes only 2'30'' to 3'30'' hours, depending on the vessel's type.
There are daily flights all year round, from Athens International Airport "Eleftherios Venizelos" to the Domestic Airport in Kastelorizo. During high season, there are also limited flights from Thessaloniki, Rhodes and Lesvos. If you are travelling from abroad, you can fly to Athens International Airport or to Rhodes Airport and then take a flight or a ferry to Kastelorizo Island.
