Kalamaris Waterfall
A visit to the waterfall is a great choice for a walk-in nature. The waterfall is located on a green hill a few kilometers from the lagoon of Gialova in southwestern Messene. It is a small wetland with many amphibians and insects living in its waters which makes it ideal if you have young children and are looking forward to giving them an unforgettable exploration.
You can reach it walking along a verdant, narrow path that passes through a forest of oaks, plane trees, pines and skins. After 15 minutes of walking, you reach a clearing surrounded by plane trees. There is a small bridge that you have to cross to reach the waterfall with the beautiful pond. During the summer there is not much water except for a few small streams that run into the rock and drip into the lake. It is much better to visit it in spring when there is much more water. Do not forget to get a camera with you as you can make amazing shots.
