This tiny islet of Agios Georgios in Megisti has to be Europe’s best kept secret. St George Island is a beautiful location, away from the main stream, accessed by one of the many boat hire companies that operate from Kastelorizo Island. The trip is only 5 minutes and fun. It is a very chilled place with a great atmosphere and a lovely little chapel, dedicated to St. George. There are many deck chairs and lounges to sunbathe and a small cafe with a comfortable deck with tables, chairs and super views as well as hot and cold food and drink. The tiny islet offers a fantastic swimming area, very safe for young children. Many people come to St. George to snorkel around the rocks as there are small shrimp and lots of fish to see. Agios Georgios Island is a perfect place to spend the day and a great spot to chill away from the island if you need a break from a break.
