Spetses Mini Marathon

The Spetses Mini Marathos is an international sporting event held annually over a three-day period on the island of Spetses, Greece. The event that has been held since 2011, includes short and long running races, open-water swimming races as well as sport events for children. Each sport event has been planned, in order to highlight the natural and architectural beauty, as well as the rich culture of the Island. Thousands of amateur and professional athletes of all ages, from Greece and the entire world, test their limits during the three days of the event, in one of the most beautiful islands of the Saronic Gulf.

Since its creation, the event has won a number of awards, including the "Ruban d'Honneur" from the European Business Awards committee in 2015, as well as being honored in the Sports Tourism category of the 2014 Greek Tourism Awards. It is organized by Athens-based Communication Lab, with support from the municipality of Spetses, the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO), and hundreds of local volunteers. The long run covers the whole island, while the shorter runs run through the historic center and the Old Harbor. The swimming routes, cross the strait separating Spetses from the town of Kosta on the mainland.
