The train of Alistrati
Running through the countryside of Alistrati region, this train tour offers passengers the chance to admire the rare flora and fauna of the area, the meanders of the Aggitis River and to see the famous rock paintings depicting human activities and animals from a distant era, about 2,500 years ago. Passengers, if lucky, may encounter eagles, hawks, herons and egrets, among other birds. The little train has few carriages and can carry around 40 passengers. It operates daily and covers a distance of about 1.5 kilometers in one and a half hours. Groups must book tickets in advance if the tour is during the week.
