The railway network in Greece is approximately 2,500 km long. Passenger and freight trains are managed by TrainOSE S.A., the Greek railway company. All three routes are extremely scenic. These lines usually are operational during the summer and on the national holidays, so if you are interested in taking them, check the schedules and book in advance. Moreover, the route from Drama to Xanthi is one of the most beautiful in Europe.
 
Suburban Railway (Proastiakos)
The Suburban Railway connects major urban centers to the suburbs, through frequent services. The Sururban Railway routes are:

  • Piraeus - Athens - Kiato.
