Klima is a traditional fishing village with multicolored two-storeyed houses. On the ground floor there are the so-called «syrmata». In there the fishermen kept their wooden boats in winter, in order to protect them from the bad weather whereas the families used to live on the top floor. The «syrmata» were usually dug in volcanic cavities and they have colorful shutters. They got their name from the wires "syrmata in greek" used by fishermen to tow the boats inside the building. Inside «syrmata» there were all the necessary tools for repairing and maintaining the boats.

Today, most of these ‘’syrmata’’ are used as rooms to rent for tourists during summer, while only a few are still in use as boat shelters. Today ‘’syrmata’’ are one of the most important attractions of the island. In 1820, in a field near Klima, a farmer discovered the statue of Aphrodite of Milos, which is on display at the Louvre Museum in Paris, while a statue of Praxiteles was also found nearby. The ancient theater of Milos is also quite close to Klima, so are the catacombs.

Getting to Klima is easy, through the island road from the village of Tripiti. The village has no beach, however, it is worthwhile visiting the colorful village with the tiny houses.
