Aidonia Waterfalls

The waterfalls of Aidonia are a hidden gem of the Corinth region. They are located near the village of Aidonia (Platana) in Nemea, which is known for the Mycenaean Treasure (Treasures of Aidonia) and the many Mycenaean tombs, that have been found in the wider area. You can reach the first waterfall through a well-marked path of moderate difficulty. The 15-minute hike requires some sort of climbing in some parts but it is worth it. Reaching the second waterfall is more demanding and requires extra skills. Both are located in an area of unparalleled natural beauty, rich in lush greenery and waters. A natural pool is formed in front of the waterfall, where the most adventurous can swim in the cold waters.Nearby, is a Mycenaean cemetery and some unlooted chamber tombs dating from the Late Mycenaean period, (1400 – 1200 BC). The tombs were discovered during excavations in 2018.
