Kefalogourna Waterfall
Kefalogourna in Theologos village of Thassos is a unique natural landscape. It is located on the outskirts of the village, on its northeastern side and is accessible via a path. The waters of the wider area are collected there and together with the waters from the source of Agia Vassiliki, which is the richest in Thassos, create two waterfalls that flow with momentum in a natural pool. There are other pedestals where guests can swim and cool off.
The vegetation around the waterfalls is dense and the sunbeams hardly penetrate the dense foliage. Flow exists all year round unless there has been a long period of intense drought. In the past, water was used to grind wheat in the watermills of the area as evidenced by the ruins of the mills that exist in the surrounding area.
