Nikouria
Nikouria is a small uninhabited islet, located straight in front of the lovely beach of Agios Pavlos in Amorgos. The islet features three virgin sandy beaches with clear and calm waters. One is relatively large and has a little bar offering drinks and snacks, while the other two are rather smaller. All of them are soft and quite protected from winds and currents. You can walk from one beach to the other in about 15 minutes. There are no any structures on the island apart a little chapel, dedicated to Panagia (Virgin Many). Nikouria was famous for the production of coins in antiquity and later was used as a refuge for lepers from the mainland.
It is easy to access Nikouria by boat from Agios Pavlos beach. There is a regular boat shuttle service and the trip takes around 10 minutes. If you plan to spend your day there, we advise to have an umbrella with you to protect yourselves from the hot Greek sun as there is no natural shade.
